...but instead, I have this life that I have. And I thank God for that. Because you know what? Honestly, truly, and completely? It's a better life. Thank God that he got through to me enough to help me pry my sticky fingers off the controls just enough to let him edge in, because if I had my way in things, if I'd been allowed to sit down at the start and plan it all out and outline exactly how I wanted my life to go and where I wanted to be in it right now, well then-- I never would have known what I was missing. My gratitude is beyond words.
So yeah, there's things I'd like to be different in my life. But God's got my entire story written already. Do you get it? The whole thing. So what do I need to worry about? My biggest concern is to not get in the way of his plan for me, because he's got a much better idea than I do-- like, unfathomably more of a clue in that regard-- what the best for me actually looks like.
So don't get hung up on whether I've met anyone, when I'm going to get married or have kids or finish that next degree or any of that. Because what God has planned for me, will happen in his time-- in the best time, and in the meantime I'm surrounded by such unbelievable blessings in my life that if you can't see them, you're either to far or too close to have the right perspective, so step up or back off until they come into focus for you.
'Cause I don't have time to worry about other peoples' plans for me-- I'm busy trying to forget my own and enjoy this better life that I have. Being here now.
